Applications
GPS Modules
For companies designing GPS modules the Sarantel Geohelix™ Antenna offers true 'plug and play' capability. The Sarantel patented deign is based on a high dielectric ceramic which ensures that signal energy is retained close to the antenna ensuring that performance is not degraded by the device housing.
Conventional antenna technology uses the overall design of the device to extend the 'resonating size' of the antenna leading to erratic performance when hand-held. This approach creates a major design issue as the antenna needs to be designed around the device housing. Sarantel's antenna technology provides a solution that can be embedded into any device, with confidence that the performance will be maintained, allowing the antenna to be treated as a standard component.
In addition, the broad beamwidth of the antenna ensures that GPS satellite signals are always tracked ensuring a higher level of accuracy and reliability even in built up urban and forest areas (where satellite signals are often blocked) and lower battery consumption compared to standard antenna technology.
Case studies
The Lommy™ offers an unseen level of GPS tracking inside most buildings and at places where traditional GPS tracking devices fail to deliver stable performance.
