Applications
Military/Rugged
Navigation devices for the military, paramilitary and industrial specialised consumer applications have special requirements, including sturdy construction and first-rate performance in dangerous situations. They are also designed to the highest shock and vibration standards for use in harsh environments.
Sarantel's GeoHelix™ antennas meet these requirements. They are also omni-directional, which means that the devices do not need a clear view of the sky for quality GPS reception. This eliminates the need to orient the device in order to achieve reliable performance, so even if a user was in a difficult position, i.e. lying on their back and unable to reach their device , their position could still be located.
Sarantel's antennas are used in a number of military PDAs such as the RPDA300 ruggedised PDA designed by ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited and the SATHI PDA, a robust tactical GPS enabled PDA with integrated radio and customised GIS application for displaying military maps and location of other devices.
